The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has successfully prevented six separate cocaine consignments bound for the United Kingdom, arresting six suspects in a major anti-narcotics crackdown. Lens News gathered the operation was orchestrated across multiple export points and involved intricate concealment strategies.
According to a Punch report, NDLEA said the shipments represented coordinated efforts by two drug cartels to exploit export channels for trafficked cocaine. The substances were hidden inside export cargoes, though NDLEA did not immediately disclose the precise weight of the seized cocaine or the identities of the arrested suspects.
The arrests came after intelligence gathering and surveillance efforts prompted NDLEA operatives to move against the ring. The suspects are now in custody, and preliminary interrogations are under way. Punch says NDLEA described this bust as “major” in scale, aiming to dismantle transnational drug routes.
Lens News reported that investigations will now focus on linking these suspects to the broader cartel networks, tracing financial flows, and identifying export facilitators. The NDLEA is expected to file formal charges soon and present the suspects in court.
This development marks one of NDLEA’s most significant operations in recent times, aligning with the agency’s intensifying efforts to stem international cocaine trafficking.
