The Director General of City Boy Movement, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, and the Lagos State Director, Barr. Moyosore Ogunlewe, on Sunday led a massive empowerment programme that benefited 3,000 vulnerable Lagosians to commemorate the 40th birthday of the movement’s Grand Patron, Barr. Seyi Tinubu.
The special prayer and empowerment event, organised by the Lagos State Chapter of City Boy Movement under Ogunlewe’s leadership, saw beneficiaries receive cash grants of N50,000 each in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda aimed at lifting millions of Nigerians out of poverty.

Speaking at the ceremony, Shoga described Seyi Tinubu as a man of exceptional character whose leadership inspires hope in Nigerian youth.
“Over the years, I have had the rare privilege of working closely with our Grand Patron, and I can testify that he is a man of exceptional character. He’s generous, quiet, and extends support to those in need,” Shoga stated.
“He does not seek applause or recognition. He simply acts, driven by one vision: to empower young Nigerians and give them the tools to succeed. This extraordinary gesture reflects the true character of Barr. Seyi Tinubu—quiet, consistent, and profoundly impactful.”

The City Boy DG commended Ogunlewe, who also serves as Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, for his dedication and organisational capacity in making the event successful.
Ogunlewe noted that the empowerment programme was designed to celebrate Seyi Tinubu’s milestone birthday and inspire Nigerian youth to participate actively in governance.
“Barr. Seyi Tinubu is a visionary leader with extraordinary influence on young Nigerians and our nation. He is the Grand Patron and Founder of the City Boy Movement worldwide, a successful entrepreneur, and a patriot whose conviction and future vision inspire us all,” Ogunlewe said.
He described the celebrant as embodying the essence of the City Boy Movement, a community of young Nigerians who believe Nigeria’s transformation is inevitable.
“At 40, he stands as a testament to excellence, integrity, and commitment to the Renewed Hope vision, proving that patriotic service and entrepreneurial success can thrive together,” the Kosofe LG boss added.
The Movement Director General further commended Dr. Seriki Muritala, the APC Youth Leader in Lagos State and Hon. Temitope Adewale, Member representing Ifako Ijaiye Constituency I at Lagos Assembly for bringing the program to live, adding that these are the type of young leaders Lagos and Nigeria need.
Shoga re-emphasised the movement’s core mandate, affirming that City Boy remains committed to supporting President Tinubu, advocating for his policies, mobilising support for his re-election, and promoting youth engagement in governance.
“I conducted symbolic presentation of N50,000 cash grants to beneficiaries and spent quality time with Lagos State Coordinators of City Boy Movement and women support groups,” Shoga stated.
He assured that with leaders like Seyi Tinubu guiding their path, the future of Nigerian youth is bright and full of promise.
The empowerment initiative aligns with the Tinubu administration’s broader agenda to achieve a $1 trillion economy by 2030 through youth empowerment and poverty reduction programmes.
Dignitaries at the event included the Deputy Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mojisola Miranda; Member representing Surulere Constituency, Hon. Desmond Elliot; National Coordinator of City Boy Movement, Mr. Favour Abayomi; and Hon. Princess Olawumi Fayemi Obayelu, representing Ilaje Constituency II at Ondo State Assembly.
Religious leaders, traditional rulers, and various support groups also attended the celebration.
