The Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan has extended the interim injunction restraining withdrawals from 30 bank accounts containing Osun State local government funds until October 9, 2025.
Lens News gathered that Justice Ladiran Akintola issued the extension to allow all parties involved in the case the Attorney-General of Osun State, the Local Government Service Commission, and the United Bank for Africa (UBA) to be heard properly.
The accounts, reportedly domiciled in UBA, had earlier been frozen following a suit filed by concerned local government officials over alleged unauthorized deductions and fund mismanagement.
During Friday’s proceedings, counsel to the sacked former APC council chairmen, Kazeem Gbadamosi (SAN), sought to join the case and challenge the court’s jurisdiction, while counsel to the plaintiffs, Musibau Adetunmbi (SAN), opposed the motion, arguing that the applicants lacked legal standing.
The matter has been adjourned to October 9 for continuation of hearing. The Supreme Court is also expected to give a related ruling on the local government funds dispute on October 7.
