The Nationwide League One (NLO) has barred 44 players from participating in the 2025 season after its medical deemed them unfit for competition.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the league confirmed the players’ ineligibility and instructed affected clubs to adjust their squads accordingly.
The announcement stated: “Following a thorough medical examination conducted by the NLO Medical Team across all states, the affected players have been confirmed ineligible for the upcoming season. This decision is strictly based on medical grounds, as detailed in the official report from the league’s doctors.”
The NLO emphasized that player health and safety remain a top priority, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring only medically fit players compete.
*”We urge all concerned clubs to take this matter seriously and update their squad lists in compliance with the league’s medical standards,”* the statement added.
