Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) under Operation Hadin Kai have intercepted a trailer allegedly transporting supplies meant for terrorist groups across the border into Niger Republic.

LensNews gathered that the interception happened on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, along the Nguru–Gashua road in Yobe State during Operation Desert Sanity IV. The red 14-tyre trailer was stopped at about 7:40 a.m., and a subsequent search at night revealed the consignment hidden under large bundles of fabric.

According to military reports, the seized items included 700 bags of NPK 20:10:10 fertilizer, 27 cartons of assorted drugs, and nine cartons of normal saline solution. Troops said the supplies were concealed to disguise their movement across the border.

On the same day, soldiers also intercepted two Sharon buses and another trailer loaded with fabrics and solar panels. Intelligence indicated that the fabrics were intended to be sewn into uniforms for fighters, while the solar panels were meant to power terrorist hideouts.

All drivers and their assistants have been taken into custody for investigation, while the consignments were moved to a secured location. The theatre command commended the vigilance of the troops and called on citizens to continue providing actionable intelligence to support counter-terrorism operations.
