The Kwara State Government has started a four-day orientation programme for over 1,000 newly recruited primary healthcare workers to boost service delivery across health centres in the state.

The state government launched the training on Thursday through the Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency at Mucenty Hotel, Omu-Aran.

The programme, which runs in batches, involves participants from all 16 local government areas in the state.

The state government sponsors the orientation under the Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equity initiative, also known as Project HOPE.

The orientation covers performance management, work ethics in primary healthcare systems, financial accountability, local government operations, and community health oversight.

These sessions will prepare the new workers with the knowledge and professionalism they need for frontline healthcare services.

Senior officials from the Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency served as resource persons during the training, alongside a director from the Local Government Service Commission.
