The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially denied reports circulating about the resumption of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
In a statement released on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, INEC clarified that it has not announced May 27, 2025, or any other date for the resumption of voter registration activities.
“The report is untrue. The Commission has not announced any resumption date for the CVR,” the statement reads.
INEC also addressed claims regarding the replacement of lost Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs), confirming that no date has been set for this service either.
Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, issued the statement and urged the public to disregard the false information currently circulating.
The electoral body emphasized its commitment to providing accurate information through its official channels and advised citizens to rely only on communications directly from INEC regarding voter registration matters.
