Gov AbdulRazaq’s aide Mikail to represent Nigeria at Afri-Asia Drug summit in Kenya

 

The Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Drug Abuse Prevention and Control, Hon. Aileru Olamilekan Mikail

The Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Drug Abuse Prevention and Control, Hon. Aileru Olamilekan Mikail, will represent Nigeria at the Africa-Asia Drug Abuse Prevention Summit in Kenya from October 27 to 29, 2025.

 

Mikail is billed to present Kwara State’s drug prevention and control model as an example for other governments across Africa and Asia.

 

The Afri-Asia Drug summit, is a “Leave-no-one-behind” Global South initiative, will bring together policymakers, researchers, and experts in drug prevention, treatment, and public health. It aims to strengthen partnerships, protect vulnerable groups, and produce a joint Afri-Asia Declaration and roadmap.

 

A former Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics with the NDLEA, Mikail has been at the forefront of drug abuse advocacy in Nigeria. His selection highlights Kwara’s recognition as a leading subnational player in drug prevention.

 

Other speakers at the summit include Dr. Charles Ngui Nzivo of Kenya, Dr. Pamela Kaithuru of ISSUP Kenya, Dr. Rogers Kasirye of Uganda, Matej Košir of Slovenia, Amy Ronshausen of the United States, and Dr. Kevin Sabet, a former US presidential advisor on drug policy.
