The Chairman, Board of Trustees, Sobi 101.9 FM, Malam Lukman Olayiwola Mustapha, has called on Muslims to embrace the spiritual values of Ramadan while fostering unity and peace in their communities.
In a statement released today, Mustapha described the month of Ramadan as a time of spiritual renewal, self-discipline, and devotion to Allah.
“It is more than just fasting; it is an opportunity for deep reflection, increased worship, and acts of kindness that strengthen our faith and character,” Mustapha said.
The seasoned banker turn politician highlighted how the month encourages compassion and charitable actions, particularly toward those facing hardship.
“This holy month calls for a heightened sense of compassion and generosity,” he explained.
“Fasting reminds us of the struggles of the less fortunate, urging us to be more charitable and supportive of those in need,” the statement read in part.
Mustapha further stressed the importance of extending the values practiced during Ramadan throughout the year, stating, “The values we uphold during Ramadan—mercy, unity, and gratitude—should not be limited to this month alone but should guide our actions throughout our lives.”
“Now more than ever, we must foster unity and peace in our communities. Let us stand together, promote understanding, and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood,” Mustapha concluded.
