The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has disclosed that troops across various military operations arrested 450 criminal suspects and rescued 180 abducted civilians during operations carried out in September 2025.

Lens News reports that the update was released by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, who said the coordinated operations also led to the neutralisation of several terrorists and the recovery of weapons and logistics used by criminal groups.

Kangye noted that the operations were conducted under joint task forces, including Operation Hadin Kai, Operation Safe Haven, Operation Whirl Stroke, Operation Delta Safe, and Operation Udo Ka, among others.

He added that troops recovered 63 assorted weapons, 4,475 rounds of ammunition, and destroyed several illegal refining sites in the Niger Delta. In total, crude oil products worth over ₦112 million were recovered from oil thieves.

The DHQ reaffirmed its commitment to protecting Nigerians and maintaining law and order across the country while urging citizens to continue supporting security agencies with timely information.
