Shoga Lauds President’s Achievements in education, Infrastructure development under two year
Says evidence of transformation brings Nigeria to fourth fastest-growing economy globally
The Director General of City Boy Movement, Hon. Francis Tosin Shoga, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his second anniversary in office, declaring that Nigeria has transformed from “a nation burdened by debt and doubt into a beacon of hope and possibility” under the current administration.
Speaking at a special press interview celebrating the President’s two years in office, Hon. Shoga emphasized the systematic reconstruction of Nigeria’s national framework under Tinubu’s leadership.
“President Tinubu’s first two years have been defined by conscious and systematic reconstruction of our national framework,” the City Boy Movement Director General stated.
Hon. Shoga positioned economic transformation as the cornerstone of the President’s achievements, revealing that “President Tinubu has made Nigeria debt-free by settling our $3.4 billion obligation to the International Monetary Fund, earning recognition as the fourth fastest-growing economy in the world.” He described this transformation as “a testament to the soundness of our fiscal policies.
The Director General further highlighted the 300% increase in federal allocations to states, which he said has empowered state governments to invest in critical infrastructure and execute development projects.
Addressing infrastructure development, Hon. Shoga detailed massive road projects approved by the Federal Executive Council.
“The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and Sokoto-Badagry Expressway will facilitate trade and reduce costs. The Federal Executive Council has also approved over 2.5 trillion Naira for various road projects,” he explained..
The City Boy Movement leader also celebrated Nigeria’s maritime achievements, stating that “four Nigerian ports—Lekki Port, Apapa Port, Tin-can Island Port, and Onne Port in Port Harcourt—are now equipped to accommodate Very Large Ships.” This expansion, according to Shoga, “positions Nigeria as the gateway to West Africa and boosts our competitiveness in international trade.”
Hon. Shoga praised the administration’s commitment to education, revealing that “Nigerian universities have operated without interruptions from ASUU strikes since October 17, 2022, and the President has allocated N50 billion to ASUU as earned allowances.” He added that “the Nigerian Education Loan Fund has disbursed N58.85 billion to support 550,000 students.”
On energy development, the Director General stated the President energy revolution has reduced fuel imports by 70% and set records in power generation, achieving a peak of 5,801.84 MW.
The City Boy Movement chief also celebrated celebrated Nigeria’s emergence as the most attractive destination for oil and gas investments in Africa, securing over $5 billion in Final Investment Decisions in 2024. He attributed this success to restored confidence in Nigeria’s regulatory environment under President Tinubu’s leadership.
Addressing security achievements, Hon. Shoga revealed there has been significant improvement in security compared to the previous administration, noting, “in 2024, our security forces neutralized over 13,500 terrorists and bandits while rescuing 8,000 kidnap victims.”
He also commended the President’s approval for creating forest guards to protect Nigeria’s 1,129 forests.
Hon. Shoga expressed confidence in the All Progressives Congress and City Boy Movement’s expansion, stating that “the remarkable momentum of state governors, federal legislators, and young Nigerians joining the All Progressives Congress and the City Boy Movement is a testament to President Tinubu’s inspiring leadership.”
Addressing political opponents, the Director General declared, “To those promoting coalition alternatives, let it be known that Asiwaju will lead Nigeria forward once again.”
Concluding his address, Hon. Shoga emphasized that the current administration has “laid the groundwork for a Nigeria that future generations will celebrate.”
He stated: “We are not merely managing decline; we are engineering greatness.”
“The annals of history will record these achievements in letters of gold, as President Tinubu is writing a new chapter in the Nigerian story—a chapter of fulfilled hopes, promises kept, and dreams realized,” Hon. Shoga concluded, urging Nigerians to “move forward with Asiwaju.”
