The Nigerian military has intensified operations in Plateau State as troops of Operation Enduring Peace begin a manhunt for the notorious extremist and bandit leader Muhammed Sule (also known as “MP”), whose hideout in Rawaya Village, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, was raided on October 19, 2025.
During the raid, troops recovered a significant cache of armaments, two AK-47 rifles, one G3 rifle, a revolver pistol, six magazines, and 1,202 rounds of live ammunition—which are now in military custody as the search for Sule continues.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj-Gen Markus Kangye, said the operation covers multiple LGAs including Barkin Ladi, Bassa, Jos North, Riyom, Jos East and Mangu, aiming to cut off escape routes and dismantle the gang’s network.
He reiterated that the operation underscores the military’s commitment to eliminating criminal gangs and ensuring stability in the region, urging citizens to assist with intelligence to locate Sule and his collaborators.
