Governors elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC) have convened in Kebbi State for a high-level meeting to discuss strategies aimed at strengthening party unity and addressing key governance and economic concerns across states.

The gathering, held under the aegis of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), brought together governors and senior party leaders to review the progress of ongoing reforms and deliberate on measures to improve collaboration between state and federal governments.

Lens News gathered that the meeting also addressed issues surrounding security, agriculture, and infrastructure, with participants reaffirming their commitment to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda at the subnational level.

Speaking during the session, Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris, who hosted the event, welcomed his colleagues and expressed optimism that the forum’s resolutions would help enhance governance and service delivery in APC-controlled states.

Other governors reportedly commended the federal government’s economic initiatives but called for more robust support to states battling inflation, food insecurity, and youth unemployment.

The meeting, which continued late into Thursday night, also reviewed upcoming off-season elections, intra-party discipline, and strategies to maintain the APC’s dominance ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Progressive Governors Forum is expected to issue a communiqué at the end of the deliberation outlining resolutions on key national matters and reaffirming the governors’ loyalty to the party’s leadership.
