Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has sacked all commissioners and political appointees whose appointments were nullified by the recent Supreme Court judgment on the state’s House of Assembly crisis.

Lens News reports that the announcement was made on Tuesday during a valedictory session at Government House, Port Harcourt.

The affected officials include Iboroma Dagogo, SAN (Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice), Charles Beke, Solomon Eke, Peter Medee, Elloka Tasie-Amadi, Basoene Joshua Benibo, and others whose confirmations were carried out by the factional Assembly led by Victor Oko-Jumbo.

Governor Fubara thanked the outgoing officials for their service and assured that a new list of nominees would soon be sent to the recognized Rivers State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

The move follows the Supreme Court’s ruling which invalidated all legislative actions of the Oko-Jumbo-led faction, including the screening and approval of commissioners and other top officials.
