Nigeria’s largest carrier, Air Peace, has announced plans to recruit 1,000 fresh graduates through a new Graduate Trainee Programme.
LensNews confirmed that the initiative is the airline’s way of appreciating the Federal Government’s recent suspension of the 4% Free On Board (FOB) levy on imports, which industry operators had said would cripple aviation businesses.
Chairman of Air Peace, Dr. Allen Ifechukwu Onyema, said the programme is designed to absorb young Nigerians into the aviation sector, boost employment, and build capacity for future growth. He praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Finance Minister Wale Edun for listening to stakeholders by halting the levy.
According to details released by the airline, applicants must be under 30 years old, possess at least a Second Class Lower degree from a recognized university, and hold an NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificate. Successful candidates will undergo structured training and mentorship within the airline.
The application portal has already opened, with a closing date set for September 30, 2025. Onyema urged graduates to seize the opportunity, noting that the company is committed to empowering Nigerian youths and reducing unemployment.
