Dangote Refinery has announced a major shake-up in Nigeria’s fuel market, confirming that from Monday, September 15, 2025, it will begin direct petrol supply with free delivery to filling stations and bulk buyers.
The refinery fixed the gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at ₦820 per litre, while motorists in Lagos and the South-West will buy petrol at ₦841 per litre. In Abuja, Edo, Rivers, Kwara, and Delta, the pump price will stand at ₦851 per litre.
To drive this massive operation, Dangote is deploying 1,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks, with a target of 4,000 trucks in the coming months. The trucks will handle free fuel distribution across the regions.
Fuel stations nationwide have been invited to register for the new scheme, which promises not only cheaper fuel but also consistent delivery, cutting out the usual middlemen and transport costs.
Industry watchers believe this move will ease the burden on Nigerians who have faced months of high petrol prices and erratic supply. It could also push other marketers to review their pump prices to stay competitive.
Dangote Refinery explained that the launch was initially planned for August but delayed due to logistics. With everything now in place, Nigerians are set for what could be a turning point in the fuel market.
