Says Holders of NCE Without University Degree Should Not Apply
The Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has announced a major recruitment initiative for teaching positions, with applications opening from February 5th through February 14th, 2025.
In a press release signed by Sam Onile, TESCOM Press Secretary and obtained by our Reporter, the Commission has established clear guidelines to ensure only qualified candidates enter the state’s teaching workforce.
“All applicants are advised to read the press statement initially issued on the recruitment process. The statement is on the portal for ease of reference,” said TESCOM Chairman Mallam Bello Tauheed Abubakar in a statement released Tuesday.
He emphasized the importance of proper qualifications, stating firmly that “persons without a university degree in relevant subject areas should not apply. Holders of NCE who do not have a university degree should not apply.”
According to Sam Onile, Press Secretary of TESCOM, the selection process will be comprehensive and methodical. “This process, for the record, will strongly balance between qualification, competence, employability, and availability to work in the hinterlands/rural areas where we mostly require teachers,” Onile explained.
He detailed that successful applicants will progress through multiple stages, beginning with a computer-based test at centers near their local government areas, followed by interviews and mandatory drug testing at NDLEA-approved facilities.
The application portal, accessible at http://tescom.kwarastate.gov.ng, goes live at midnight on February 5th, 2025.
Onile encourage that candidates should carefully review all requirements and guidelines posted on the portal before submitting their applications.
