10th Nigerian Senate, under the leadership of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has passed over 90 bills in just over two years, with 52 of them signed into law by President Bola Tinubu.

Kenny Okolugbo, Media Consultant to the Senate President, described these legislative achievements as “uncommon,” highlighting the Senate’s proactive approach to addressing national issues.

Lens News gathered that among the significant laws enacted are the Student Loan Act, providing interest-free loans to underprivileged students repayable upon employment; the Tax Reform Bill, aimed at broadening the tax base while offering relief to low-income earners; and the establishment of five regional development commissions to promote balanced development across the country.

The Senate’s legislative efforts have also contributed to economic stabilization, with interventions leading to a reduction in inflation to 20.12%.

Currently, over 200 bills are at various stages of the legislative process, demonstrating the Senate’s ongoing commitment to governance and reform.

These accomplishments are seen as a testament to Akpabio’s leadership and the Senate’s dedication to addressing the needs of Nigerians.
